LIMSOC uses a handful of statuses to show Surfcom what's happening. Here's what each one means.
Patrols and services
Signed on / Signed off: whether the unit is currently on duty.
Beach status: Open, or closed with a reason (for example Dangerous Surf or Marine Stingers). While a stinger drag is under way it shows as Conducting Stinger Drag. It's shared with emergency services and Beachsafe.
Patrol strength: Full, Partial, or Surveillance / Low Patronage.
Powercraft (IRB): Operational, Standby, or Not Operational with a reason.
Field units
On Duty: actively working.
On Call: available to be called out.
Incidents
An incident is either OPEN or CLOSED. Only Surfcom closes incidents. Closed incidents stay visible to patrols until midnight.
Your unit's response to an incident
Each unit linked to an incident has its own response status. Some screens show the short code.
Notified (NO): Surfcom has told your unit about the incident.
Acknowledged (AK): your unit has confirmed it received the job.
Monitoring (MO): keeping watch, not responding.
Standby (ST): ready to respond if needed.
Enroute (ER): on the way.
On Scene (AR): arrived.
Returning (RE): leaving the scene.
Stood Down (SD): no longer needed.
Cleared (CU): finished with the incident.
Field units can report some of these from their phone. Surfcom sets the rest. See Responding to Incidents in the Field.
