Finding Your Way Around

The side menu, choosing and switching units or clubs, the menu button on phones, and getting back to the interface picker.

Patrols and Field share the same layout, so once you know one you'll find your way around the other.

The side menu

On a computer or tablet the menu is on the left: red in Patrols, orange in Field. On a phone, tap ☰ in the top-left to open it. From top to bottom:

  • Landing: back to the interface picker (Patrols, Field, Reporting and so on).

  • Units: choose which club, service or role you're working as.

  • Your current unit's name, followed by everything you can do for that unit, such as Patrols, Map, Incidents, First Aids and Rescues. The items you see depend on your unit and your access.

  • Have Feedback?: send a question or problem to the LIMSOC team. See Getting Help with LIMSOC.

  • Your name at the bottom opens your profile menu.

Choosing and switching units

If you patrol with more than one club or service, or hold more than one role, choose the right one before recording anything:

  • In Patrols, use Units in the menu, or the Switch club/Service tile on your unit's Patrols screen.

  • In Field, use Units to see the units you've signed on and pick another role.

The selected unit's name is always shown in the menu, and on most screens under the page heading, for example "Test Club (TSTV)". Check it before you submit anything.

Back buttons

Most screens have a Back button in the top-right. Forms have Cancel, which leaves without saving. Your browser's own back button also works.
